I have been a member of the Polish Community Association in Geelong for over 30 years and a member of the Committee for around 27 years. During most of these 27 years, I was the Treasurer of the Association.
During my time on the Committee, we undertook to redevelop the building on a number of occasions. A major redevelopment took place when we were successful in our application for the extra 30 gaming machines in early years of 2000.
I completed my apprenticeship in 1963 as a Fitter & Turner in Geelong with the Ford Motor Company. I spend the last 30 years of my working life employed as a Maintenance Fitter & Turner at the Geelong Shell Refinery. I am now retired.
I have a good understanding of financial management mainly from what I have learned in managing my own Superannuation Fund and the four property investments, which my wife and I manage ourselves.
I did not stand for election in 2013, having been on the Committee for three decades, I thought I would give others a chance to take the Club forward. For a number of reasons, I decided to stand again for election to the Committee at a Special General Meeting of members in June 2015.
